ART AND BODY-CENTRED
Therapy for trauma, grief, and compassion fatigue
IN LOWER LONSDALE, NORTH VANCOUVER, BC
At Nirivia Counselling, my goal is to help you develop a greater understanding of your issues and increase positive supports to create change.
With a deep respect for my clients, we work collaboratively through talk, somatic and arts-based techniques to create insight and promote healing. You already have everything inside of you to create the life you want - together we uncover what has been buried under old wounds so you can learn to trust yourself again.
You show up for others, let me show up for you.
As a natural caregiver, you show up beautifully for everyone in your life, but somewhere along the way, you lost touch with yourself. Are you tired of feeling disconnected from your body and your emotions?
Whether you are navigating developmental trauma, chronic illness, burnout or complicated grief, I am here to help you reconnect with your body, emotions and intuition. Because you are also deserving of the care that you give to others.
I can help with
01
Trauma
Childhood experiences shape us. When safety is not guaranteed, our brains and bodies become hypervigilant, always searching for signs of danger - and ignoring signs of joy, contentment and whimsy. Developmental trauma may result in anxiety, chronic pain, PTSD and depression, leaving you navigating the world feeling disconnected from your body and intuition. Therapy helps you calm your racing thoughts, access your body’s inner wisdom and reconnect with parts of yourself that you previously learned to ignore.
02
Life Transitions
Whether you are moving, going through a divorce, changing careers, or grieving a loved one, life transitions can leave you not feeling disconnected from your true self. Find a pathway back to yourself through creative expression, thoughtful conversation and compassionate care.
03
Compassion Fatigue
Burnout and compassion fatigue are so common in the helping field. When you do so much for everyone else around you, there is not always a lot left to give to yourself. Therapy offers gentle accountability to prioritize rest, set boundaries and push back against the cultural messages that keep helpers overwhelmed and exhausted.
